Natural Soapstone Heart

These beautiful natural soapstone hearts make wonderful ornaments, paperweights or a great keep sake to give to loved ones.

Most of the worlds soapstone originates form Kisii in the Western highlands of Kenya and is home to the best artisan soapstone carvers. The talc in soapstone is soft to touch, hence the name. Before carving the stone must be emerged in water to make it softer and easier to work with. Using a knife and chisel they carve the stone. 

Because this is a natural material, colours will vary from heart to heart.
